Paul W. Heersink, O.D.

Dr. Paul W. Heersink grew up in the rural area southwest of Alamosa, Colorado. His undergraduate studies were done in Grand Rapids, Michigan at Calvin College. It was at Calvin College that he met his wife Barb. He obtained his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. After graduation he spent one year in Denver while employed by Kaiser HMO before returning to the San Luis Valley and has been in private practice since 1979. Dr. Heersink enjoys the challenge of practicing optometry in a rural setting. Being able to work with pre and post operative management of surgery patients has allowed him to expand the level of care available for San Luis Valley patients.
